The Accountancy Future Leaders Programme (AFLP) is designed to develop more competitive Small and Medium-sized Practices (SMPs) by developing their up-coming leaders. The programme will equip them with leadership capabilities, market insights and business growth strategies to seize opportunities in a market that is becoming increasingly complex, globally interdependent, and digitalised. 
 

The six-month programme was developed by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) in partnership with SAC, and supported by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).  

 

Candidates must be: 

  • Professional accountants working in SMPs
  • Middle to senior level professionals with a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Identified by the Managing Partner as having high potential to take on key leadership positions

The six-month programme comprises four components: 


PHASE 1: E-LEARNING 
Pre-course preparation requires participants to read the following three online modules. Each module will take one to two hours to complete.

Module 1: ‘Leading the Firm’ covers topics in practice leadership. 

Module 2: ‘Growing the Firm’ covers business advisory success. 

Module 3: ‘Marketing the Firm’ covers the fundamentals of marketing.


PHASE 2: WORKSHOP 
The three and a half-day workshop will cover: 

  • Change leadership 
  • Business strategy
  • People strategy
  • Technology strategy

The workshop will include case studies on leadership and SMP practice management. 


PHASE 3: PROJECT WORK WITH COACHING
Participants are required to work on any one of the following topics. They will be coached by a qualified consultant till completion of the project.

  • Business strategy 
  • People strategy
  • Technology strategy 


PHASE 4: TALKS ON LEADERSHIP
Industry leaders will deliver half-day talks on innovative business models, and their perspectives of good practice management leadership.

$ 3,995.33 (incl GST)

Training Grant
Singaporean participants are eligible to be funded at 50% of the full Programme fee (before GST) if they meet the criteria below. 


Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Nominated by his/her employer to participate in the Programme
  • Took the course for the first time
  • Completed all e-learning modules, workshops, talks and project work
  • Cost of training was fully sponsored by his/her employer and payment was made via corporate payment channels (e.g. corporate cheque, corporate credit card)
  • The applicant has not received any other government grants for the Programme (e.g Economic Development Board, capitation from the Ministry of Education, SkillsFuture Singapore, etc) 


All applicants are required to pay the full Programme fee of $ 7,500 upon registration. The Training Grant of 50% of the full Programme Fee will be reimbursed by ISCA upon completion of the Programme.
